This course helps supervisors become familiar with the process
of counseling and discover ways that counseling can be used as
a strategy to address poor employee performance.
As a prerequisite to this course, the learner should have a working
knowledge of Civil Service Law and rules, and practical skills
in counseling, discipline, and performance evaluation.

- Defining counseling and when it is appropriate
- Conducting a counseling session
- Writing a counseling memo
- Identifying and addressing poor performance and behavior problems
