Description: Video based training that illustrates how all individuals can learn to recognize the warning signs for suicide in people we know, have just met, or in ourselves. This training instructs learners on the three R’s to prevent suicide: recognize, respond, and refer. The training uses data, a first-person testimony, and a scenario to illustrate guiding the actions a viewer should take to prevent suicide.
- Describes the three R’s to prevent suicide:
- Recognize: Be aware of the warning signs using the acronym FAST (Feelings; Actions, changes in behaviors; Situations; Talking about suicide).
- Respond: Engaging with the person you are concerned about
- Refer: Actions to take to refer for assistance.
